Letter to EU leaders ahead of emergency meeting on Israel and Palestine

On 10 October, Amnesty International issued a letter to High Representative Josep Borrell and EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs ahead of their emergency meeting in relation to the horrific events unfolding in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

We are deeply concerned about the serious violations of international humanitarian law (IHL), including war crimes committed by all parties to the conflict in the most recent round of fighting. EU leaders must decide whether the EU will act in accordance with its commitment to uphold international humanitarian law and human rights or undermine international law by applying double standards.
