09/07/2009 – Amnesty International is publishing a new report today on maternal health in Peru which documents progress in tackling maternal mortality since the 2006 report, Peru: Poor and excluded women – Denial of the right to maternal and child health.

09/03/2009 – On 8 December 2008 the Council of the European Union adopted the EU Guidelines on Violence Against Women and Girls. On the occasion of International Women‟s Day, Amnesty International calls to the EU to fulfil this commitment by raising the issue of combating violence against women and girls in all discussions with its member states, third countries and international organisations.

Amnesty International today calls on the EU to step up its financial and legal support for the fight against trafficking in women, following the release of a new Amnesty report detailing the suffering of women who are trafficked and forced into prostitution in Kosovo.
