07/05/2009 – Amnesty International calls on the Presidency to use the opportunity of the forthcoming Eastern Partnership summit on 7 May, EU-Moldova Troika on 12 May and all other ongoing contact with the Moldovan authorities, to insist that torture and other ill-treatment by police officers should not be tolerated under any circumstances and that human rights defenders and other civil society activists must be able to carry out their work unhindered and protected.
