29/08/2006 – Amnesty International is deeply concerned about statements made by President Kaczynski in July 2006 calling for the restoration of the death penalty in Poland. In the light of the Polish Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Brussels, the EU Office of Amnesty International has forwarded this letter to the European Commission and European Parliament addressing the recent comments made in Poland about the death penalty.
