26/07/2012 – AI has called on Commissioner Reding to trigger the infringement proceduree against the Italian Government. There is continuing discrimination against Roma in relation to their right to adequate housing and related rights taking place in Italy. The practice of segregated housing for Roma and forced evictions of Roma settlements constitutes a serious breach of the Race Equality Directive (2000/43/EC).
