13/06/2014 – In the first five months of 2014, over 200 more individuals lost their lives in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas trying to reach Europe, with hundreds believed missing. As summer approaches (the peak season for boat crossings), search and rescue activities in the Mediterranean and Aegean seas must urgently be strengthened to prevent further tragedies and loss of life.
