AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL OPEN LETTER TO IRISH EU PREIDENCY ON IRAQ
In an Open Letter to the Irish EU Presidency (see below), Amnesty International is calling on the EU to reconsider its apparent decision not to push for United Nations’ monitoring of the human rights situation in Iraq. With EU Foreign Ministers due to discuss this issue at their meeting on Monday (22 March), Amnesty International today releases its report Iraq: One year on which states that the human rights situation in the country remains dire.
