EU – Africa Summit: Fulfilling the promises on concrete outcomes

(Brussels, 7 December) As the EU-Africa Summit starts, Amnesty International calls on leaders to deliver on their promises for concrete results on human rights commitments. AI stresses the need for improved cooperation between Africa and Europe in international fora, including the International Criminal Court, as well as for more effective African human rights protection mechanisms. AI’s concerns were raised in a letter addressed to Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Socrates.
