Amnesty International’s European Institutions Office (EIO) leads and coordinates Amnesty International’s actions towards the European Union (EU) and the Council of Europe (CoE). Our mission is to ensure that these bodies, and their respective member states, take tangible action to promote and protect human rights.
Our team uses their knowledge regarding the structure, procedures, and decision-making processes within the European Institutions to bring about positive human rights change. In our day-to-day work, we engage key decision makers and contacts, provide accurate and reliable information on human rights issues, develop targeted recommendations, and create opportunities to influence decisions and make an impact for human rights.
