10/12/2003 – Amnesty International welcomes the European Commission Communication on the application of Article 7 TEU in October 2003 as a first step towards acceptance of a key element in Article 7 TEU, that of adequate monitoring of the situation regarding fundamental rights in the EU in order to recognise risks and actual breaches of fundamental rights as they arise within the EU.
