Amnesty Europe is asking people to tweet questions for Salil Shetty to ask the EU using hashtag #AmnestyAsksEU

Salil Shetty, Amnesty International’s Secretary General will visit Brussels in just over a week, on 20 and 21 January. He will meet senior European Union (EU) representatives to discuss the human rights agenda within the EU, at its borders, and beyond. We want to include your voice in the debate! Are you mad about the mistreatment of migrants; disgusted by discrimination

Let us know what you would like Salil to ask on your behalf, so the EU continues to remain true to its founding principles of human rights and democracy.

@SalilShetty will meet:

Jose Manuel Barroso

 Herman Van Rompuy

Viviane Reding

Cecilia Malmstrom

Stavros Lambrinidis

and Commission Secretary General Catherine Day.

You can join in by tweeting your questions @AmnestyEurope until Thursday 16 January noon Brussels time. A selection will be put to EU representatives, and we will make their answers available via @AmnestyEurope.

Don’t forget to let us know who your question is for! Or, if you prefer, you can put a general question to @EU_Commission or @EUCouncil.

Join the debate on Twitter. Let your voice be heard!
