23/02/2016 – The European Union (EU) must act now to prevent a wholesale assault on human rights and basic freedoms both within its borders and across the globe, said Amnesty International as it launched its annual assessment on human rights around the world.
15/02/2016 – As the European External Action Service (EEAS) drafts a new European Union (EU) Global Strategy on foreign and security policy (the Global Strategy) , Amnesty International calls on the EU and its member states to ensure that human rights remain at the centre of this new strategy and of their foreign policy now and in future.
15/02/2016 – Thousands of refugees and migrants are still enduring squalid living conditions in Calais and Dunkirk in Northern France, many of them in the hope of reuniting with their family in the UK. To break out of this impasse, the UK and French governments must urgently implement measures to facilitate that those in the camps with family links to the UK are swiftly identified and transferred to the UK.
